Today is Memorial Day and most of us probably have the day off.
I hope we will take a moment to remember why...
In the past two-hundred thirty-four years…
Over one million brave men and women have given their lives to protect what we hold most precious…
From the battle of Lexington and Concord,
To the bloodshed at Antietam,
From the trenches of World War One,
To the bombing at Pearl Harbor,
From Korea and Vietnam,
To the deserts of Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq;
Today we remember…
We honor…
And we thank the men and women who have fought to establish and preserve of freedom.
This video is for you. Thank you!

family night (last week) - dress up night
Well, we finally got back on track last week for Family Night...
Last week was Dress Up Night. We all dressed up (you know, ties and dresses). Terri made a nice dinner that included cloth napkins and candles. The strawberry cake was amazing! I wore a suit. However, I was given a hard way to go for not wearing socks (or shoes). Hannah had a great time as did Joel. Although it was a little harder to convince him to dress up. The unbuttoned shirt and clip on tie says it all. We couldn't help but laugh.

a family field trip...
I guess I should have posted our field trip to The Wilds earlier this spring.
Well, here ya go...
The Wilds is one of the largest and most innovative wildlife conservation centers in the world.
It was a little chilly, but the day was a lot of fun. We hiked, we learned, we painted a frog house (pardon me, we painted a toad abode).
We also boarded a guided Safari Transport to view rare and endangered animals living in natural, open-range habitats. It was an experience. I have included some pictures (yes, that bison has its tongue up its nose). Can you do that?
